Sioux Center, IA

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recently announced that Interstates Companies remains named as an Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC). Interstates has maintained Accredited Quality Contractor status since the program began in 1993.

The Associated Builders and Contractors AQC program is a national accreditation providing recognition to construction firms that document their commitment to quality achievement in five areas of corporate responsibility:

  • Quality "" AQC members must provide evidence of quality work through referrals from clients and proof of industry awards for projects they have completed.
  • Safety "" AQC members are required to participate in the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program at the gold, platinum or diamond level.
  • Employee Benefits "" Participants must excel in the area of employee benefits by offering both their salary and hourly employees benefits that are above or beyond the norm for the construction industry.
  • Training "" Companies who are part of the AQC program confirm that their employees receive opportunities for management education as well as accredited craft education (when applicable).
  • Community Relations and Outreach Activities "" AQC members provide evidence of continued community involvement and of their efforts to improve the image of the construction industry.

AQC members annually verify their commitment to the five areas of corporate responsibility and the AQC pledge:

"As an Accredited Quality Contractor, our company is committed to providing our clients with the highest quality construction services and we care deeply about our employees and the communities in which we build. We are proud to be part of the construction industry and are dedicated to the principle of free enterprise. We commit ourselves to serve our communities and to provide our employees with the skills they need to work safely and productively in order to meet the needs of our clients."
